ADOPTION POEM
November 26th, 2007 by admin
An adoption is such an emotional event in the life of not only the adoptee (the child) but also the adopting parents. The adoption process can be talked about openly in a poem, and actually is done so regularly on a site called AdoptionPoetry.com. This site offers several poems about adoption that come from the heart of the writer. These poems of adoption tell the stories of several individuals and their own unique experiences with adoption including the search, the find, the process of waiting for everything to become finalized, the periods of time that are rough with adjustment, and the finalization. There is a poem about a mother who is choosing to give up her child and another about the adopted child’s legacy. There are so many heartfelt poems that are available for others to read and gain encouragement and knowledge from and each has something to do with the adoption process.
Many individuals look at this as a way to cope with the whole scenario of adoption. The child may write his or her own poem to express the way he or she feels while going through the process of adoption. Likewise, the adult adopting parent who is experiencing all of the new feelings involved with the adoption and introduction of a new child into their family may feel the need to write about their experience. As before, even the natural mother who is choosing adoption for her child to ensure that the child has a better life or for many other reasons can write poetry and place it on AdoptionPoetry.com with the site’s approval. These individuals are given a voice on this site. They are given a chance to be heard and a chance to help others by saying what they feel that they must through poetry. Certain people believe that poems of adoption are often some of the most emotional writings that one could ever read.
